About Amaya

Dreamworker, intuitive guide

Background & experience

My background is in mental health. I worked as a psychotherapist in private practice for nine years, and before that I worked in hospitals doing assessments and clinical work at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA; Butler Hospital in Providence, RI; and Alexian Brothers Hospital in Chicago, IL.

Over the years I developed a unique way of working, drawing from EMDR (trained through the EMDR International Association) and Hypnotherapy (trained at the Wellness Institute in Seattle). I furthered my studies by working with plant medicines such as Huachuma in Peru, known as a heart-opener; studying Ayurveda in the Himalayas of India; and studying ancestral practices born of my own lineage with Betsy Bergstrom and in a practitioner training with Daniel Foor.

My current focus on dreams is about reclaiming the imagination and accessing a more expansive life path. I work creatively, not diagnostically.

I am most grateful to my teachers, some of whom include Carla Barroso, Betsy Bergstrom, Gayle Thomas, Paulina Corradini, Shannon Willis, Robert Moss, Robert Waggoner, and Daniel Foor.

Approach & expertise

I work with dreams as living fields. I do not reduce them to symbols. A dream is a conversation with an intelligence that meets you through image, sensation, and emotion. My work expands your consciousness, develops your imagination, and deepens your emotional range and intuition.

In working with a guide, you approach this opening in a grounded way — able to receive, integrate, and direct what comes through without being swept away. I hold the threshold open so you can cross it yourself, and walk back with what you find.
